Just got this IS and not a big fan of the spoiler the previous owner installed. I want to remove it, and am pretty sure it’s held on only by adhesive. Will removing the tape damage the paint?
Also not sure if the original rear emblem is still underneath the spoiler or if it was removed. Any advice on this?
pop the boot lid, remove the lining and you will see if there are any bolts used for the install. Once you confirm no bolts or screws are used, you may try to spray some adhesive removing liquid between the boot lid and the spoiler, than gently apply heat with a heat gun and try to lift spoiler away start from one corner.
As for the emblem, it appears it is the original emblem and the spoiler just had an oval cut around that area.

I would for sure say this is your best bet, no way you want to pry up on it before you are 100% sure that it isnt held on with bolts. I for one really like the look of it though, maybe it will grow on you?
