What Sasnuke said. The rubber moulding is at the tops of both the front and rear windshields, it is attached by the glass manufacturers and cannot be added later once the urethane has dried to the glass and body. There won’t be any leaks without, but it will look awkward and can, in some cases, create a whistle noise in the cabin. Aesthetically though, I believe it will collect debris in that channel too.
