Default Lexus is300 2018 headlight issue

My lexus is3002018 FSport variant is having a few issues I thought I could ask someone here so recently I took it for a car wash after the car wash 2 days in my headlights starts saying it’s malfunctioned please take to dealer I don’t have warranty (since I do not have warranty I live in dubai and American imports don’t have warranty and my cars an American import) my headlights initially worked fine even with the error but as time passed the headlights kept getting worse to a point one worked and one didn’t I hope you’ve understood everything so far, so I go to the garage they say since u got the car washed the water somehow got into the electronic control module of the headlight so you need to replace it I’m like sure replaced well and good both headlights now work fine issue resolved ..
NOW the problem arises that the car had a really cool feature that when I would open my door or touch the door handle or even be close to the car the interior lights and the headlights would auto switch on without me doing anything although now only the Interior lights and the LED lights under the xenon turn on and not the xenon themselves. I do not remember correctly but maybe they mixed up the wiring of the car and instead of headlight the LEDS turn on maybe I don’t know I’m not sure I asked the garage guy he says it may be the BCM body control module not sure if that’s the case but okay now I am fairly confused 🤷🏽*♂️ why this is happening please help me I hope I’ve been clear as possible

That's kinda off that going to a car wash can mess up the headlight and any electrical unless they power washed the engine bay everytime.

I do think the BCM is controlling that light feature you are talking about, I forgot where I read it since there was a thread about something similar(can't find it). But then again, if it rains heavy water would get into those places as well. Also did you have your car taken into service for that issue? A bit confused on "I do not remember correctly but maybe they mixed up the wiring of the car and instead of headlight the LEDS turn on maybe I don’t know I’m not sure I asked the garage guy he says it may be the BCM body control module not sure if that’s the case but okay now I am fairly confused ..."

Thank you for the reply first and second
Initially when the headlight stopped operating completely the left one. I tried the feature if by going close to the car the light would turn on and the left headlight since inoperable did not turn on but the right one did turn based on that i assume the function was operational, when they changed the ecm for the left headlight and now both headlights work well i tried the same thing again going up close to the car so that the headlights would turn on BUT they do not just the LED lights under the headlights turn on. i hope ive made some sense this time

my point was while fixing the left headlight he removed the plugs for both headlights as he changed the ecu for the left hand side maybe he mismanaged the wires and conncted the wrong ones into the wrong position or plugs due to which the issue is occuring or change the bcm itself

I think the headlights turn on when you unlock the drivers door, this is what my IS does anyway and I am pretty sure previous models follows this.

So for example if the car is locked. You come close within the sensing proximity with the key, all lights in the interior as well as the side mirror lights comes on. Only when you grab the door handle and open the car while the door(s) unlock the headlights comes on. I really don't think you can screw up putting the harness back onto any electronic module like the BCM, the connectors shouldn't allow it and it only goes one way.

I know for sure when the car is already unlocked and you walk up close to it, only the interior and side mirrors will come on.

If that is the case and even when i open the door handle the lights do not come on what could it be then ?
and if they have connected everything properly and t is impossible to mess that part up what would be the next step?
Another thing when u press the unlock button on the key itself the led and the headlights do come on yes .. because in my case they do not start
both lights only switch on when the car has started and is operational

On the left hand stalk of the wheel, are the headlights set to auto? I know that if you put it off(which turns off the DRLs) the headlights don't come on at all.
