Highway MPG
Hi, I'm looking to buy a new IS300awd, 2018 or 2019, I did a lot of reading here and I saw that these cars are not really fuel efficiency,
especially in city, I do mostly highway, maybe 75/25 highway/city, on strictly highway, can these cars able to achieve more then 26mpg at normal speed like 70mph, I say a pic here on this forum someone who achieved 31mpg, I think it's pretty good but I only saw one post on this forum with that kind of mpg
thanks!

Duber - I have the IS350 and I get on average 8 to 9L/100km on the highway (doing around 110km/h) versus around 10 to 11L/100km when doing a combo of city and country roads.
So if you convert that into MPG, that would be 26-29mpg on the highway at (doing around 65-70mpg) versus around 21-23mpg when doing the combo in town.
Keep in mind that if you are an aggressive driver, those numbers will not be met - I am a 80% reasonable and 20% aggressive.
Hope this helps...I will say that you should be more worried about the tire wear than fuel consumption

I don't know in Ontario, but here in Quebec, the fuel is really pricey, especially the Shell Vpower, this is why I hesitate to buy the IS300awd
and I don't want the 300rwd Turbo, rwd are not the best in snow!
I'm aware about the tires wear
thanks!

city more like 12ish,
bumper to bumper stuck in traffic goes up to 14ish
for a 300+ horsepower AWD sport sedan with like a 3800 pound curb weight it’s not to bad.
I think on paper the fuel economy of the 2015 and the 2019 is the same, but on real, is the 2019 better than the 2015??

If you want highway, consider a Lexus hybrid. I was bumping over 90 (yes ninety) mpg today on my CT during my commute. gingerly cruisin' on highway, very slight downhill grade. every day i play a little game to see how much mpg i can get on a paticular commute. On a long highway trip though, normally, i realistically can do about 50-53 mpg.
you want vroom vroom its gonna cost you.

I have a Lexus IS300 AWD, 100% city here in Vancouver I get 14L/100km. On the highway I can get it down to low 9s, but I super rarely ever go on highway. My tank lasts about a week daily driving and to fill up is reaching up to almost $100. Most likely not going to keep the car once the lease is up.
Almost $100 to fill up... dammm. Here in Ontario I am filling up with $80 premium and its hurting. Last tank I filled with cannotbementionedfluid to test and I am getting 10.3 L/100km (about 70% highway driving) which I usually do 11.1 on premium.
I usually need to fill up every 4-5 days.
