Tsudo Axleback disappointment
Okay guys, I installed this axleback on my 2017 Lexus IS 300 roughly a month ago and it was awesome first few weeks. I was looking for a bit more of a purrrr and rummmm out of the engine which I thought was wayyyyy too quiet. And I got exactly that but as of maybe a week ago... the sound is just almost nonexistant. I specifically did not want something that wakes up the neighbors but I feel like I am back to square one. I have a fear of deleting the exhaust as I am not a fan of the cracking sound that could cause. FYI I had it professionally installed so it's not a user error. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to bring life back into this axleback purchase as I really like the look of the burnt exhaust tips and all but just having some buyer's remorse lately...

give it some more time. my axle back got louder over time.
if you want more noise, get a midpipe.. but you will be that guy that stands out in traffic and you will also wake your neighbours.
i heard that the apexi is apparently unusually loud for just an axle back, so maybe here's your solution.

Depending on how many miles you drive you've had it on there long enough it should be louder not more quiet. Give it +500 miles.
My bet is you've gotten more used to it...it becomes underwhelming in comparison to the initial interpretation. 1st few weeks afterwards the difference is always more clear and exciting.
I went through that on my Invidia axle back and then again now with my latest intake mods.
A solution may be resonator delete, it's on my list. I agree too that a straight pipe or muffler delete is way out of the question.
Also...intake helped to change the sound quite a bit.

Resonator delete will give rasp, not sure if that is something you are okay with or prefer not to have. The Vibrant Performance ones are less restrictive than stock and sound much better while retaining the lack of rasp.

The shop that put on my cat-back said it would quieten after a month or so because the carbon buildup would insulate it. Cannot say for sure it's any quieter, except maybe freeway drone is down -- then again maybe I'm just used to it. If you want more sound, look at doing just a secondary cat delete, as this guy did with his Tsudo axle-back:

A little off topic, but do you have the 2017 Lexus IS300 with the I4 turbo or v6? You should post up a sound clip! I'd like to hear what the I4 sounds like wit the Tsudo.

I also have the Tsudo Axleback, and I can say that I was in your situation. Then I got the 2nd cat deleted, put some Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators on, the sound is deeper and louder now but not loud enough to wake the whole neighborhood up.

I went with the Apexi catback and couldn't be any more happier with the setup. Not afraid of waking up neighbors, no one should care about how loud my car sounds as long as I'm not being obnoxious like some others. I mean Harley's are loud off the bat and mopeds are much more annoying to hear in the middle of the night anyway.
