As soon as I open the trunk the remotely started car stops running. Is there a way to disable this so I can keep my snow brush in the trunk and still have the car running to generate heat?

 

There is no take over feature according to Lexus and there is no work around. Not sure if using the enform to start the car if this will allow take over to occur.

 

I use enform almost daily and there is no takeover while using remote start.

I figured out a "workaround" (the car still shuts off, but it's gonna make it easier to start the car back up rather than pulling your phone out and wait for it to contact the car again)...Let's say if you start your car with the remote app, open the trunk then car shuts off. You can use the keyfob to start it again, by pressing the lock button twice then hold it the third time, then the car will flash its blinkers a few times and starts back up so you're off to do your thing...cleaning snow from the car with it running. Disregard if you already know this...

 

The app is free, the membership for remote start is like 100 or 150 USD a year I dont remember.

 

The keyfob "3-click" remote start is how Toyota/Lexus traditionally operated remote start before Enform was around. Even after introducing Enform Remote Start, you can still use the keyfob to operate it instead.

 

It's $80 now. Add another $80 if you want SOS services (AKA Safety Connect) and another $80 for Destination Assist.

Not for all models. I have a 2017 IS300 (non sport no GPS) and I am required to purchase safety connect + Remote's yearly subscription of $160. I do not have the option to just purchase the $80/year remote subscription. When I spoke to Lexus.. they said my trim requires I get both as the remote uses the safety connect to work. I have 0 interest in the safety connect and it sucks I'm forced to get both as I use the remote every day.

 

$16 + tax = $17 and change a month
