So I’m actually curious as to whether a different brand would cause hyper flash. I may get some Diode Dynamic LEDs and try it out.

i think it’s just the voltage rating...LEDs hyperflash because the voltage for them are lower than the original ones

Idk it could be they switched to a different method of sensing whether bulbs are working or not. I would have to research it.

I have a 2016 IS 350 F Sport and I used the same bulbs as in E46CT's post. Ordered from Amazon last week. I installed all 4 and had hyperflash. I had also ordered 2 pair of resistors in case I needed them. After seeing how tight the front area is to try to splice the wires, I decided against it and returned the bulbs and resistors. Bulbs were $40 total and resistors were $10, came out to right about $50.

For an additional $10 per side ($70 total), I went with these from iJDMToy

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Error-Free-...s-p/20-009.htm

They installed pretty easily and work just fine. They come pre-wired with resistors so you still need to find a spot nearby to place the resistor.

I’m not trying to bash your purchase by any means, but the stuff I’ve bought from ijdmtoy has been cheaply put together. Hopefully your bulbs last long because the bulbs I’ve bought from them have gone out in like 2 weeks.

I understand. I've had good luck with Cree LEDs in the past, so thought I'd give it a try. If they crap out in a month, I'll post an update. That front area is so tight, I really wanted to avoid splicing wires. It would have required a half hour of removing parts just to access each side.

I don’t blame you, the OP here has been trying to find out which wire to splice since there are two green wires with no colored stripes on them.

can you tell me where you mounted the resistor? Is there more room in the back than the front? Are they still going strong? Could you send me pics of the resistor location? I am very interested to do the same thing as you.

I removed the front shield over the radiator, there are 9 clips (circled in red on image). I then zip-tied the heat sink portion through the existing holes in the support as shown in the images. It's hard to see, the heat sinks are yellow/gold and they are under the support.

Read this thread I posted which explain why some LED bulbs work with 1 resistor/side work and some aren't.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...for-3is-3.html

My setup in that thread works 99% of the time. I do get random hyper-flash the other 1%. I'm sure that I need more "power hungry" bulbs but I'm too cheap to buy new set so I just add a tiny (indicator type) filament bulb to increase the power draw to fix the hyper-flash problem. Got the bulbs from my old pile of switches for the Supra.
Not exactly but the type of filament bulb I use look like this https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B079SH5J68

Sub'd to see updates. Just did LED's (Front & Rear turn signals) on my 2013 GS. I was truly shocked that this is still an issue in these modern cars.

In any event, I ordered one of the adjustable "electronic" relays to replace the flasher relay under the dash. I hope that does the job.
