Hmmm interesting. I wonder if the lamp failure warning sensor (is there one?) had anything to do with it meaning the front and back signals are isolated.

its the only conclusion I can think of. Each corner is its own. So I may not have a choice but to put a resistor on each corner. But unless someone chimes in and identifies which front wires to splice, I’m staying halogen up front for now.

You will definitely have to put a resistor on each corner. I have only seen 2 setups: no resistors at all (which was the case for me) and resistors on each corner.

i figured, I just need to know which green wire to do up front, lol. I’m pretty sure the black is ground.

I’m honestly surprised no one has been able to help.

Green/white stripe is usually signal or maybe solid green. Ground is generally black or white/black stripe. A simple test light will tell you.

Problem is there are two solid green wires and then the black which is the ground obviously so that’s why I haven’t been able to help him because how the hell do you know the difference between the two solid green wires if they didn’t put a colored stripe on them lol.

exactly 😩

if there was room to work in I would try both, that area is too cramped too be splicing wires

So you’re saying resistors are not needed on the 18 model?

Thats good news to me lol, I’m thinking of doing the LED blinkers mod as well but afraid of installing the resistor (not so familiar with wirings)

That has only been confirmed with the LED bulbs E46CT recommends in his DIY.

That’s what I bought, the ASTAR ones. And they should be arriving tomorrow, can’t wait to put them in! There are no issues for you so far right? How are you liking them?

Bright, crisp, and sexy. I love them, just don’t know how long they will last. I usually buy Diode Dynamics which is a premium brand, but decided to be a little more cheap this time around. But no issues so far!

That sounds nice, the crisp flashing is what I’m going after as well. I think LED should last long without issues. My cheap LED dome lights from the previous car are still shining bright after a few years! The worse case scenario is that I’ll go back to the original bulb if it goes out 😂

While yes LEDs SHOULD last long, the build quality is what determines if they really will. I bought some cheap LEDs for my Toyota Celica and they went out in like 2 weeks. On my G37S. I have all Diode Dynamics LED bulbs inside and out and I’ve had 0 issues after 3 and a half years. But I’m hoping these Astars last at least 2 years haha.

lol hopefully
if they go out, maybe we can just buy some high quality LEDs with the same spec and voltage rating so they have the right amount of resistance to not hyper flash
