Default How to remove Center Console Scratches.

I have a 2014 Lexus IS F sport that was purchased used with some light center console scratches. I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck in removing/covering up the scratches. Thank you

Where are the scratches at and how bad are you talking. If you could provide pics, it may help to better understand your issue. There are a good many ways to repair most interior scratches.

I was afraid that’s what you were referring to, imho, you may remove some with disassembly and polish, but it really needs refinishing. That’s beyond my expertise, I hope someone on here can really offer up more help.

In other cars I've eventually had to buy a kit. Some kits (carbon fiber, black, etc.) can cost $100-$175 and you can do it yourself in 1-2 hours. The cost of having it detailed out (because I wouldn't know how to do it) may be equal to something like this:

Lexus must have noticed this piece of trim was susceptible to scratches. In 2015, they swapped this shiny plastic material for a more matte plastic. If it really bugs you, you could change the piece out entirely.

Not a fan of this. Looks like the car is from the 80's

You could try a polishing compound. I've had success removing scratches from clear plastic with it.

polish is not going to fix that. that's the raw plastic that's scratched, not a painted surface. you will only make the white areas large and you'll see your buffing marks.

The best way for removing such scratches is polishing with proper polish materiel like wax. my opinion.
