Default Cooper Zeon RS3-G1

Anybody here tried or have these tires on their G3 IS? I’m currently looking for a new set of tires and was curious as to how well these work for our vehicles. Sound, ride, performance, longevity, or any input.

I've been considering these as well. Consumer reports has them ranked quite a bit below others but I'm not sure they are the experts by any means. Would be interesting to hear what folks in here who have them think.

I went with Sumitomo HTR Z3 in that same budget range on tirerack for my Skyline. Since it's similar enough to the IS350, i'll report back on how they do.

Well I pulled the trigger on these Coopers, and although still new I have to say I like them. Noise is comparable to the Bridgestone Turanza, seem to be quieter, but mine were worn too. Handling, I can’t really say, I haven’t pushed them, but they feel planted through the curves I have driven so far. Wet handling seems to be good, braking, take off, and moderate turns/curves. Snow traction remains to be seen, but I’ll report on that as well, shouldn’t be too much an issue with awd though. They are rated for 50k, I know the staggered setup will limit that, but I’ll keep an eye on it also. These do have an asymmetrical tread too, so they can swap left to right, so that could help out inner wear issues that many have if watched carefully. I’ll update later after a few more miles are on them and see what the future holds. No regrets so far though.

Thanks, during the late winter months we tend to get a few inches here or there, but it mostly ices with freezing rain here. We get nothing like the more northern states, we may average 10-12” through the season, 2-3” here or there or 1/4-1/2” ice storms. Nothing handles good in the ice though, I’d much rather have the snow.

I bought Cooper RS3 G1 tires for my 2011 IS250. I probably won't mount them till next year, but glad someone tried them and thinks they are OK.

Any other opinions would be helpful here.

Update: I have now went through two sets since I last posted, and can say that they do well. With awd they work well with light snow, let’s face it, these cars aren’t going anywhere in the deep stuff, but it did well in the light snow. Rain performance, they shed water well too without breaking traction. I’ve seen really good mileage out of both sets, approximately 30-35k to the tread wear bars.

Now the only downside I can really give them is they get noisy as they wear. I thought I had a bad wheel bearing the first time, but I can live with it considering how they last without rotating. I am looking to put a third set on here soon. I will also say, they’re not as high performance as the high end summer tires, but they’re not as soft as them either, but I have yet to find their limits with my spirited driving. I believe they’re a good compromise between a good mileage and high performance tire. I also believe you won’t be disappointed with them once you mount them. I know other owners have them around here now, but they may not be on this forum to sound off. Hope this helps.
