Default Driver's side won't lock or unlock.. sometimes.

Long story short, my car was towed 2 weeks ago and ever since then, the lock on the drivers side has trouble locking/unlocking. Pressing the buttons on the inside of the car/the outside button on the door handle does nothing. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes the buttons do work normally. Also, when I attempt to unlock the door by grabbing the door handle, the door would make numerous clicking sounds and the lights would flash. I was doing research online and I guess I might need a new actuator for the car, but before I go to the mechanic I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before?

I had the same problem about a year ago. It didn't happen all the time but enough to be annoying. I did some research on this forum and found that most people thought it was an actuator problem. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. Unfortunately it is starting to act up again. Not looking forward to dealing with this issue each year... especially when the car gets out of warranty.
I see that you're located in Illinois. I bought and have mine serviced at McGrath Lexus in Westmont.

Thank's for the response! I got mine at Mcgrath Lexus in Chicago. When did you get the actuator replaced and when did it start acting up again?

Not a big deal even out of warranty. part is anywhere from $40 to $200 to replace (all over ebay) and looks easy enough to DIY. if you are an enthusiast and have basic tools, should be easy to knock out in less than an hour

I had it serviced on 04/21/17 at my 15,000 mile service. Definitely a little disappointing that less than a year and 10k miles later, it's happening again.
