Mine 350 Fsport does not upshift for me in manual mode, i don't know why, sometimes whenever i forgot to upshift in manual mode the sound goes buf buf buf. 8speed only gives you good gas mileage it does not give you any fast speed, ive tested drive the 350 RWD but not the Fsport and not in Manual mode, well indeed the automatic shifting is smoother, i mean i don't care because the 6speed aggressive is what i'm looking for, drove my friend 2008 IS-F yes that 8 speeds on a 400hp+ is big FUN different. So its good to you because the bounce of limiter ? boy if i want to go back to my teenage , i will buy STANDARD TRANSMISSION maybe a Toyota 86 ! i mean you do have a point there about 8speed but in Canada we need AWD and 8speed only available in RWD, the more speed the fun with Down shift up shift with LOUD Muffler i know that but the GraceGirl's questions, Speed isn't important to her regarding to her questioning. You guys debating which better, i say 6 speed is better, but if you meant which is more fun, i say 8-10 speeds is more fun with loud muffler. Watch this video lol

Guys this is how you shift like a pRo like a PrO

Sorry but the 6 is less aggressive overall cause it's sluggish. It's a noticeable delay downshifting and that pains me to no end. Our 8 speed is decent but still no ZF. I don't like the IS in AWD form. I think there are other cars that I would have chosen for AWD.

This isn't necessarily true - the 6-speed will bounce off the limiter in manual mode if I disable traction control and VSC (i.e., pedal dance or hold the TC off button down).

The 6-speed is only sluggish in low-throttle situations. I'm sure the 8-speed is better, but the 6-speed is not bad, and it still gives you somewhat of a kick in the back if you shift manually.

Edit: I almost feel like we need a transmission comparison thread, haha.
