Default Question about remote start

Can remote start key programmed on the key fob and used without the Enform app, or are both required? Thank you.

But without any additional installation or service, Can Lexus program the fob just be used alone to start the car remotely without the Enform?

They would be doing what the other user just offered. It's either you pay the subscription for Enform, or install aftermarket bypass which dealers can also do... but no amount of programming will allow it to just work.

Awesome. Thanks for the clarification. How much does the dealer install cost?

some bypass modules work as a standalone remote start, and you just press lock 3 times and it starts the car. cost varies with products and installers.

How do you install this? Has anyone else done it? If so how much?

I have a 2017 model and it does the same. The remote start using the key fob and pressing lock 3x only works if you have the enform subscription (remote start part) active. As far as I know, both the lexus dealer and enform customer service were not aware the car could be started remotely by using the lock button. I actually found this out through clublexus...

I have a aftermarket remote start installed on mine and it sucks because the car shuts off when you open a door; I was told all push to start toyota's were like this... Anyone know if the push lock 3 times remote start stays on?

It's standard. It's called the Lexus Enform Remote. You have a complimentary service for 1 year. You can start your car, remote lock/unlock and see the status of all the doors and windows.

The 10 yrs Lexus Enform Safety Connect and Service Connect is also complimentary but does not remote start or let you see the status of the doors and windows.
