Sadly Toyota uses the same software as Lexus. My sisters 14 Corrola had many of the same issues with her navigation system that the early 3rd Gen IS's. The problems have been mostly ironed out. As I suggested contact Lexus directly using the customer support hotline. They will not perform a "recall" on this issue because they are reserved for safety concerns they may however do what is called a customer satisfaction warranty extension like with the dashes.

Really ? i just bought a brand new TOyota RAV4 2018 for my sister SE package with Navigation, damn lol should have got the Acura MDX, personally i hate this kind of issue, the reason why i DON'T BUY AUDI, because i don't know anything about Electrical, today my Navigation "BLACK OUT" after 1st reboot, weird thing is whenever Nav reboot my Dashcam reboot along with Nav, today was SUPER ANNOYING, i got home and did a Battery Terminal Reset, the Nav turned back on , Youtuber guy told me it worked for him like 2 of them said that, so i did, if this issue persist ill bring to dealership, if dealership cant fix, bye bye Toyota Lexus, i can't stand this issue, 10 times everyday on my way home from work, in the morning its fine, "reboot 10 times every 5-10 seconds" for 15 KMs and then reboot again before i drive to my parking. its getting on my nerve bro, all my mechanic friends refused to fix, they don't want headache told me to drive to Lexus Dealership .

I agree it's a pain in the ***. Personally that why I just get the standard audio system and don't even bother with the factory navigation. Had Navigation in my 2011 IS350 and that was the old HDD based system with touch screen, when they switched to the new remote touch systems in 2014 I tried it out and could not stand how unresponsive and slow it felt compared to my 2011. Both my 2014 and now my 2017 are non-navigation and I don't miss it.

i guess, and i did the battery terminal reset the NAV didnt reboot yesterday i will see how long will it lasts lol, to be honest i really liked Lexus, i chose Lexus over Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes (i dont like Audi) even 3rd Gen IS having weird noise lately i didn't care But Navigation rebooting" freaked me out really when the NAV keep on rebooting for 2-3 KMs on Freeway/Highway and then it SHUTsDOWN itself went BLACKout and my DashCam keep on Beeping , the Pickup Truck driver was side by side me looking, i think he was wondering What the heck is happening to your LEXUS .

There is no traffic integration in Canada so nav units are useless. I use it as a live map to see where I am, google maps/waze is far easier.

To the OP, just take your car in to a good dealership and explain nicely. They know about this issue, maybe there's something corporate can do to help.

Last year i did took my car to LEXUS DOWNTOWN, that weird little cute ASIAN girl keep saying "the car is not yours" until i showed her my Ownership with my FULL NAME payed off car AWD IS350 Fsport ! probably she judges me by the way i looked in WORKING CLOTHING, i wasn't so happy and then she keep denying to talk about warranty and she told me "YOU DID NOT BUY THE CAR HERE" well ya i bought the car from "KENSHAW LEXUS" KM was exactly 80k km which closed to warranty expired, KENSHAW LEXUS is kinda little far away i was lazy due to the raining day, got home came on Clublexus someone member here gave me the link for Firmware update, this NAV problem gone for about 8-11 months until now, it just CAME BACK BRO , it really came back and my warranty is GONE lol

By the way i just Read "Lexus Consumer affairs" a lot of complaints and Un-Satisfied Lexus Customer service across North America, i did talk to one of the Lexus Downtown Mechanics he told me to bring it in and mention about Nav issue, ill do when this issue come back again or after Winter, i'm debating between a Mustang GT 2018 or an RC-F , probably Mustang i guess, let consider this is my FATE with Lexus.

PS: i found my old posts last year seem like i DID do the Battery reset and firmware !

Yeah unfortunately Lexus is a bit judgy. Im 28, I work as a cook so I rarely have time off and when I do I’m in a T-shirt and sweats.

I wanted to check out the GS350 in person so I went to Lexus Oakville with my girl. I parked my 350 right in front of the door, there was only a rx there. Im in sweats, my gf is 20 years old and the people there did not seem to notice us. We get a lackluster greeting, one salemen approached us but then left to help someone else. I was ready to upgrade that day. So we looked around and left.

Take your car into a dealership in toronto, there are several within 1 hour of eachother. I say this because I hope being close to other dealerships forces them to be a bit better. I bought my car at Heffener Lexus in kitchener and was not impressed at all with customer service. Closest dealership is what lexus oakville?

Just tell them whats going on, the fact that this is an known problem that is well documented on clublexus. Tell them you you thought you’d would come in and see what they can do, I mean the reason most people choose lexus is due to reliability. Without reliability what is lexus? See what they’re willing to do. Also don’t even consider the RCs, even the F is no good. Frankenstein car chasis that weights too much.

ya i fell that way too, because those receptionists are UNPROFESSIONAL they thinks we CAn'T afford because we DON'T DRESS in SUITS or VEST like a BOSS or businessman , as i've seen a lot of Dudes dressed in Suits/Vest driving Honda Civic, Pontiact Sunfire Corolla Nissan Sentra etc in the Ontario streets. But i dont judge people by the look i respect ALL JOBS, Rent or Own a house, Buy or Lease a car = No Different because Living in this COUNTRY everyone has to PAY the Bill right ? a friend in "Thorn Hill" payed off his big house but still get to pay 700-800$ a month, other friend living in Housing Community still has to pay 1200$ a month rent, Condo in downtown still have to pay 600-800$+ a month. "Cooker in Ontario makes HUGE $$$$ 100k$ a year LOL at Lexus of Oakville

Have you noticed a few Lexus IS on the road ? and thousand of Mercedes BMW and Audi abroad ? Corolla Camry and Civic all over lol , ya im into Ford Mustang the couple on "Americanmuscle" were informative with Mustang. (its like i bought Lexus because i found ClubLexus.com ) everyday we learn !

Before i brought my Lexus i read about all the good services and how Lexus is number for customer service but i can tell you from my purchase experiences till now i am constantly **** off. I went to multiple dealerships and they are all the same ****s. Maybe Lexus Canada or people in Canada don't care about servicing people. Anyway, They are not bias because you were young and dress in t shirt. I am not young and dress semi formal and still getting the attitude haha.

Wow! Ya'll are all in Ontario. I thought Canadians were supposed to all be nice like us southerners. It disturbs me to hear you're experiences with the service personnel at your local Lexus dealers.

If you are not going to call the Lexus customer service hotline there really is nothing else any of use can suggest to you. If Lexus did the update to your navigation system then there is a record of the update being done.
