Auto headlights not working?
Hello, first post so bare with me. I recently purchased a 2015 Lexus IS250 F sport with about 20k miles on it. On the ride home, I set the lights to auto and they seemed really dim. Come to find out that the actual headlights were not on. It was just the running lights. I have turned the sensitivity up to make them come on when it isnt as dark outside, but they still do not come on even if it is pitch black. I am not sure if the sensor is faulty or what but I want to figure this out so I dont have to keep manually turning the headlights on on a practically brand new car. Any help would be appreciated.
How did you make this sensitivity change?
Do your dash lights change brightness with the ambient lighting? **** can not be set to max on position.
On the 2IS there is a light sensor to the right of defroster on the front window. Blocking it on a bright day will dim the nav and gauges. Ever notice if yours works?
Granted, both can be disabled by user selections.

AFAIK sensitivity of the solar sensor for the headlamps can only be set with tech-stream. Return to the dealer you purchased from, this should fall under a safety concern so even if it is a "as-is" sale they should be required to fix this concern.

Sensor on your dashboard you see (dome shape) Grab something to cover it to make it pitch dark for the sensor to see if it comes on.
If it does do anything on AUTO position that sensor has issue then and needs to be diagnosed

For those asking, you can change the "Headlamps-ON Sensitivity" via the Lexus Personalized Settings using the navigation system menu - see #10 for headlamp setting.
OP, I'd recommend returning to where you recently purchased the vehicle to see if they can advise.
