Angry My Lexus was Vandalized :(

Hello, unfortunately when I woke up this morning and went outside I was greeted with a door ding and large scratch from someone hitting my driver side door and keying the door panel. The funny thing is I could see red paint in the door ding on my car, and parked right next to my car was a red challenger with my Atomic Silver paint still on the edge of their door. So the Sheriffs deputy showed up and made a Criminal Mischief Police Report and USAA said they would do a vandalism claim which works under my comprehensive insurance for the keying but they will do collision damage for the door ding which would make me have to pay my $1000 deductible. Ouch.

I went to a local shop I know and they want to charge over $1000 to mix their own paint and repaint both driver side doors and blend it with the rear and front side panels on the driver side. I know Atomic Silver is hard to match, so I don’t want it to look like crap. The scratch from the keying is deep. It went through the clear coat and one other layer at least. Anyone else fix a dented door ding and keyed car on Atomic Silver?

UPDATE: they called my number from a note i left under their wiper and it was a young girl (in her 20s) who is a friend of the car owner who lives with her. She told me the owner was in the “hospital” and she doesn’t know who was driving blah blah blah. I told her that I just want them to contact USAA and tell them it was an accident because right now the Sheriff has it as criminal mischief and USAA is considering it to be vandalism and that means we both pay. She looked at the damage on my car then asked how I knew it was their car and I showed her the paint transfer on both cars and she still said she didn’t know. I got her info though so that’s a plus.
Here’s pics of it:

That's insane that you have to pay out of pocket when they have "proof" that the Challenger may have caused the damage. Anyone onsite with an active dashcam?

Idiot in the Challenger could've at least moved that pile of junk somewhere to a different spot where it would not be so obvious that it was them that did the damage. Lucky for you they kept the car in that spot haha. Idiots.

funny part is I have a thinkware F800 pro two channel dash cam with extra battery for parking mode and it didn’t capture it. I had it in energy saving mode for some reason and it happened to the side...ugh

yea that makes me think they came home late Sunday night drunk. I discovered this at 10 this morning. It’s now 6pm and the red Challenger is still there!

You could try to confront them when they return to their car and try to get it recorded. Might be worth it for $1000. Just be safe about it if they start getting crazy.

what sucks is that you parked pretty far from the space divider and still was scraped.

I don't think the challenger person did it on purpose. It's probably a heavier set person, so they swung the door open for the ding.
The scratch came from the fatty trying to walk between the cars.. it sucks, but it was an accident
