Default door ding...

I got out of a restaurant the other day and walked up to my car... I notice a door ding w/ red paint. A red Audi was parked next to me (which wasn't there when I arrived). I was about to go back into the restaurant and asked who was driving the red Audi, but I let it pass. I got home and got the paint removed (spray 9 always does the trick). The ding however is not vertical, it's horizontal? How is this possible, do you guys think this wasn't a door ding? I’m just very perplexed by the shape of the door ding..

Didnt you compare the height and location of the ding with the door shape and location on the Audi to verify that it came from the Audi? Door dings can be horizontal too. I feel your pain, I got an absolutely massive ding in my pristine door from some drunk human garbage, I coulda strangled the trash that did it, cost me $80 to have it pulled out.

Try a dentless repair place. My previous car had some minor dings and they took it out pretty fast and looked great. http://youtube.com/watch?v=kVnYSkB6Y9Q

The method I saw as that you use a hair dryer to heat up the spot for 30 seconds, then take a can of "air duster" / "can air", turn it upside down and spray it at that spot for a few seconds then just wait for it to "pop" back out. What I worry about is the paint chipping from the hot and cold but others have swear by it. YMMV
