Default Techron Concentrate Plus

Guys,
Anyone using this additive? My service centre typically uses Lexus Fuel injector cleaner during my service. Was wondering, if I can skip theirs and use Techron instead.

Any feedback is welcome

i use it at every service interval point, so twice a year. it can't hurt, and it's relatively inexpensive, so why not?

You certainly can. It's actually what the folks at the Lexus Technical center recommended that we use if we want something off the shelf.

Lucas is the best on the market (my opinion, but do the research, you'll arrive at the same answer).

I use it every 2500 miles when I fill up.

Buy a gallon and a 5.25 ounce size. Use the 5.25 during gas fill up and refill the bottle with the gallon jug.

Wow every 2500 miles? isn't that a bit excessive? I know it doesn't cost much but it's in the same league as changing oil every 3,000 miles, for a modern car.
My Lexus dealer only adds the fuel additive once every major service or 30,000 miles.

I am guilty of chucking Techron into my IS far far too often, probably every 8th or 10th tank, as I do my corvette. I get a six pack off of Amazon and break a bubbly free. now and then. Don't cost much - let the gals have some fun for as often as they air it out i my book. Far easier and with better effects IMO than than the Marvel Mystery Oil I used to meter out years ago.

Use once or twice a year for S and giggles, if it gives YOU peace of mind. But really if you use a Top Tier gas (which we all do nowadays--even Valero is now Top Tier as of today) then you'll be fine. If you used no extra additives outside of the regular gas you put in your cars, you would need 20 years and a microscope to detect any differences.

JM2C but that quantity is likely enough to damage O2 sensors and perhaps even degrade the CATs performance. I would seriously fall back on those consumption rates.

Something that is a factor for some is short trips vs running it for 45min twice a day. For those running kids around, live close to work/school and do like 10 10min trips daily your vehicles simply won't last as long as those started twice a day and ran for an hour each way as they never get warm enough to burn off the deposits, evaporate the water from the oil, flow enough port velocity to undue all those short trips. high amounts of idle time and short trips lead to build of deposits throughout the entire intake, combustion, and exhaust.

I could go on. But there may be a case for every 7,500mi fuel treatment. Which also means you need to follow the oil change interval set for these conditions too which is a lot shorter than those of us who commute 60mi round trip.

Let me know if you want more info...

Use Lexus one, Fuel injector, additive might fail your Catalyst converter according to expert, everyone different opinions , We are Lexus not German or Korean, you worry about Carbon Build up Jenny ? here steps how to use this, 1 buy 2 bottles, pour 1 in right away drive your car Crazy go WOT until your Gas light lit, 2, go to gas station before you fill up the gas pour the 2nd bottle in ,3 use top tier gas with these procedures and then you can go back to medium tier, 4 , do this 2-3 times a year, 5 Oil catch can also reduce carbon build up but get the expensive one not China Made

I'm pretty sure the Lexus Fuel system cleaner is outsourced from a major company. I'll have to look through my notes.
