IS300 Fsport appreciation thread
Most video and text reviews of the IS300 Fsport AWD are not favorable. The
seats and handling seem to be agreed upon nice points, but that's about it.
Reviewers pile on the detuned engine, low torque, poor gas milage, etc.
I am still unclear on why they detuned the engine on this model. I trust that
it is an engineering issue, rather than marketing. Another criticism is that it
is dressed up as a sport edition, but doesn't have the performance to match.
Of course we had the nice poll on changing/improving for the next generation Lexus IS.
But, I love the look and feel of my IS300 AWD Fsport in Caviar/Rioja Red. I don't recall seeing this combo in my
area on the streets. I came from a 328hp G37x. I miss the power, but I am enjoying the much more
refined Lexus.
Tell me something good about your IS300 AWD Fsport!

I bought my 300 F Sport because the price was right, I chose it over the turbo. Dealer did not stock the 350 AWD due to lack of demand.
If I was a decade younger I would have opted for more power, but now my interests have changed. Glad to hear that a tune could match the specs of a 350.
In my older years I appreciate other things like reliability, when things simply just work years down the road without frequent service. I also appreciate when quality transcends into the later years, aging gracefully with time. I am hoping based on Lexus track record this is the case, as this is my first dive into Japanese luxury.
