Pads? Maybe. If you have the F Sport "high-friction" pads, those are known to have pretty short change intervals. Rotors - that's a different story. What's the reason for needing to replace the rotors?

Service tech advised that the brakes and pads wear out evenly on newer sport package vehicles. This is from Lexus of Cerritos. Total cost is 840 is this normal?

stealerships always trying to rip people off by saying they need rotors replaced. I have cars with 125k miles on original rotors that are still above minimum thickness

Absolutely normal. Actually I'm jealous. 16k is awesome. Replaced mine at 11k.

Depends on the application. That may ring true on a Prius but not for a performance high friction setup. Your car stop good? chances are it needs its binders replaced quicker. There's no free lunch here.

Wow, that's very early. Still going strong on mine with just under 15k. I fully expect to need to replace them at my 20k service.

I could've gone a little more but they were getting low. See link in my sig. but yeah luckily they're easy to replace

yep quite easy. $200 bucks for what? front pads? front and rear pads? or front and rear pads and rotors?

pads are $60 per axle on ebay (Genuine) so curious what you bought for $200!

My 2016 has around 10,500 miles on it and brakes are starting to squeal now. May be needing to replace soon myself.
Is this normal at such a low mileage?

Just got my car back from Cerritos as well for the 55k oil change service and service tech is quoting me around $800 to change pads and rotors. What did you ended up doing?

$800? I did mine for 60 bucks and 20 or so min? with genuine Lexus pads. lol.

if you need front rotors, add about $180 or so to the price.

maintenance is almost free if you DIY. be your own service tech.

I'm at 20,000 miles and my 2nd set of pads are just about ready to be changed again. i'll be installing pad set #3 soon!

absolutely normal. it's normal brand new off the lot. my new Lexus squealed a bit on the drive home. brand new.

it happens as these pads are mess makers due to their good performance.

Welp, about to hit 18k.
Squeeling and puking brake dust, thought it was normal.
Going to change out to Akebonos next week. Thanks for the info guys!
