Yep! It's a perk to me. I prefer high friction-high dust f sport pads. I want them to wear out quickly.

I had some rotor scoring that caused them to squeal. Got really bad around 14k I would say. Got the front rotors resurfaced, and they haven't squeaked since, at least not in the same way. Sometimes I get a faint squeak when reversing coming from the rears, but only occasionally.

You lasted till 18k without squealing? Lucky you.

I bough my 350 f sport used at 21k so I'm not sure of the history of the brake before that. I do know that I changed them at about 47k so whatever pads were on there were good. I replaced the rotors with EBC BSD rotors and the Yellow Stuff pads.

For those of you who replace your own pads and rotors, when it's time to replace the pads again, are you going to also replace the rotor, resurface or leave the rotors alone?
#23
I usually will change the rotor after the second set of pads. I of course have them re surfaced after the first set! Usually each set of pads will last me 15-18K miles (akebono)

your result may vary but i got one and a half pad sets to last with one set of rotors. But that's with heavy braking and high friction pads.

I put on Akebonos last month at 20k. Couldn't be happier. Brake dust is virtually gone, and no noticeable difference in braking power.

Akebono full ceramics are the way to go every time IMHO. They have about the same stopping power as OEM but with almost NO brake dust. I can’t STAND the amount of brake dust that accumulates in like 4 days. I wash my car about every week to a week and a half and it’s so annoying how much brake dust there is. Anyways yeah Akebono’s I HIGHLY recommend.

Pick up the grease packets when you buy the pads...tubebe how to do it...you'll do fine!
I cant believe that is isn't covered by peoples warranties....mine is long gone and bought used but seems the norm they would just replace for free....especially lexus.

Wear and tear is not cover by any manufacturer warranty. If that was the case, I would have gotten my tires replaced, wipers, filter and oil replaced under warranty.

Brakes on my other car were covered up to 36,000 miles by Nissan. And Nissan sucks at taking care of people.
BUT, maybe that was that was just the fluids and hardware and I misunderstood.
