Default Those with ML sound system

I just got my 2017 IS350 about 3 weeks ago and after doing some settings I feel like a lot of the sound comes from only the front of the dash and the side speakers aren't really working much, I open the back doors to see if they're working and they are but just very faintly. I've taken off the surround sound and I could tell the difference but I was expecting more from all the other speakers in the car. Is this how it is for everyone realisticly? Or perhaps there's a problem? My car is brand new so I doubt there could be any problems ha idk any advice would be great thanks!

Default Similar issue

Morning. I posted earlier this week with major issues coming from my ML system in s 2017 IS350 F Sport. I've had it to the dealer and am awaiting them to find another IS with ML to compare against (Lexus policy) so they can isolate any issues. When I took it to the dealer a few weeks ago, two separate techs said that there is certainly something wrong with the system, but they don't know what. They played with all the settings for over 1.5hrs trying to get it to "sound better" but it still sounds distorted with nearly no sound coming from the sides or rear. They suggested moving the "center" of the sound to further back of the car to push more sound from the front speakers. Works on some songs, but not all. I'll let everyone know when I get some feedback from the dealer (they have gotten a Lexus Rep involved now).

Is your IS a 2017? Hopefully its not a ML issue across the board...

I wouldn't say I have a distorted issue I just feel like there's not enough sound coming from the back and sides. When they said 360 sound, I would expect to hear it all around me ha so idk I'll be just asking my dealer to let me test other vehicles soon.

I have 2016 IS350 with ML. When I want to have a true demo of the surround sound I load some CD with some concert recording and then it is pretty obvious how the sound envelops you. I don't think the surround sound effect is that noticeable with HD broadcast music. I am not an audiophile but as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with my ML.

^^try a CD, they are less compressed format which should allow you to hear more details on ranges
