Just take it to the dealer, replicate the problem while they're in the car with you, and they should be able to fix it. Typically this just involves removing the offending panel and adding some foam, and putting it back. I have had to do this twice now, once with the steering column and once with the drive mode selector ****.

Do you listen to your music really loud?? I find when I turn it up real good the plastic piece around the window/door lock buttons make a rattle sound... been thinking about how to pull it off and insert cushion

I had the same issue, but on the passenger side. I took the car to the dealership and they fixed it after identifying the rattle, and they said it is caused by a loose duct under the vent.
