Default Cost of labor for lowering your car?

I am planing to lower my car, and I am getting some ridiculous quotes for the labor.
$300 from a shop, $560 from my friend's brother.

They both claim it is a 6 hours job?

My last car I paid a meal of an in & out burger to lower my car by replacing springs and structs, and it only took about 2 hours.
How much did you pay to lower your car?

I mean dam, I know I live in San Francisco, but this is crazy.

I did mine myself in a couple of hours and I'm no mechanic..

A good mechanic should be able to do it in about 2 hours.

I'd say anything $300 and under is a fair price.

Springs aren't rocket science. I did mine in about 4 hours and I am NOT a pro. They should be about a 2 maybe 3 hour job by a pro. Coils are even easier because you don't need compressors or to take the top hats off.

$200 should be fair. The first set of springs I did were for pizza and beer, a little perspective

i think 300 dollars is a reasonable price. at least a reasonable price for my area -- temecula, not barcelona.

Entirely going to depend on the demographic of shop you use. Some will be much more practical with labor quotes, with that said, another 2.5 hour lowering job here. I use Milwaukee brushless impacts and hand tools at home. Rent a spring compressor, buy yourself some tools, an get free tools out of the deal.

Whoever takes 6 hours to install springs, does not belong at a business charging hourly rates.

$300 is ok for SF area.
$560 is a complete ripoff for a home install by a "friend"

I was quoted $450 for fsport springs/fsport shocks/custom steering wheel/alignment to be done at once.

Any inputs?

I got hooked up with a tech at Lexus dealer. Paid him $150 for 2-hour and $50 for alignment. And yes, I did another alignment 3 or 4 weeks later once my fsport springs settled.

The shops in Montreal charge ~$200 CDN + the alignment ($100).

That's sad that someone took a meal for a 2 hour job...
