i would like to go up to 225/45/18 and 255/40/18, has anyone run this setup up without any issues? I am lowered on RSR downs. Stock wheels

I think that should be fine. How come you want more sidewall?

I also would very much like to get taller side wall tires on the IS350 FSport RWD, but after speaking with the dealer service manager he said this might require re-configuration of several wheel components, which in turn will mess up the computer detection systems on the car. See some other forum comments here.

Hmm, yeah I am curious - why would you like to have taller sidewalls?

You know, you could go down to a 17" wheel to avoid increasing the overall tire diameter. I'm sure it'd be less attractive to the eye, though.

Curious of anyone actually ran bigger/wider tires on the stock 18' FSPORT rims?

Pics? Specs? How was it?

Lexus makes a bottom of the barrel 17" wheel for the base 3IS. It's not very attractive but it might give you the change you're looking for.

Here's the bottom of the barrel 17" wheel... (225-45-17 all around)

The base wheels on the refreshed model are slightly more attractive, at least...

Default 2017 IS 300 F sport

Just purchased an IS 300 F sport this weekend and love the car. Dealer recommended the tire and rim warranty package which I have 30 days to accept $1,550 total cost for 5 years. Thoughts if these tires are prone to a bubble or blow outs and worth the warranty. I'm more of a slow driver and mainly driving in the suburbs rather than the city which has more pot holes, thanks

Well, if you're in the suburbs, that's a bit different from my situation... I live in a suburb of Kansas City, but the roads on my commute are terrible, not to mention I end up parking on the street once in a while. So, if you don't see a lot of potholes or have much risk of curbing the wheels, it might not be worth it.

That being said, this week, I am about to take advantage of my coverage for the third time since I bought the car - just found a screw in my tire, and I have repaired curbed wheels twice already. It's nice to not have to pay additional money for those things at the time of the incident - peace of mind.
