Default Wheel Fitment Guide

Hello fellow CLers! I've recently posted about the wheels I just installed on my 3IS and I've gotten a HUGE number of requests on how to figure out how wheels will fit.

Wheel specs are not an easy thing to understand, but for those who have the time, we should put them here in a centralized location for members if they need the research. I have a suggested format so I'll start:

Model
2015 IS350 F-Sport RWD

Fronts
Wheel: RPF1 18x9.5+45 with a 15mm spacer (effective offset of +30)
Tires: Cooper 235/40/18
Camber: -1.6
Rubbing: None
Notes: These RPF1s have the concave face and took some research to figure out what would fit. The spokes clear the huge 350 calipers by 3mm and upper control arm by 9mm. No fender mods

Rears
Wheel: RPF1 18x10+38
Tires: Cooper 255/35/18
Camber: -1.3
Rubbing: None
Notes: Stock control arm had me around -2.8 degrees of camber; this meant really bad tire life. I have SPC camber arms to remedy the amount camber within stock specs. You can go wider/more aggressive offsets, but you'd need more negative camber. No fender mods

Suspension notes:
RSR Down springs
SPC camber arms (rear)
KICS 15mm bolt on spacers (front)

Hi, do you think 18x9.5 38 off set would be ok without spacer for 3IS? It would be 12mm closer to the control arm than the stock rims.

Hey I just picked up Enkei NT03+Ms 18x9.5 +27 and I'm lowered on BC Racing coilovers, do you think I'll have an issue with clearance in the fronts on my 250?

We get a new thread every week on the same topic. I just wish someone would sticky this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tart-here.html

On the setup. That is insane stretch on 235 front tires on 9.5 wheels. What I don't understand is, why you took the more complex route. Why not 18x9 +35 front with 245/35 tire and Rear 18x9.5 +45 with 265 or 255/35. I doubt you would need spacers to clear brakes with this setup. RPF1's are all same concave even with the setup I posted.

Should be fine if you have a 250. with a 350, depending on the face of the wheel, the spokes may hit the caliper

if you stretch your tires a bit (225 or 235) you should have minimal rubbing on the fender liner. the spokes will clear the brakes no problem, and you'll clear the arm no problem.

the cooper 235 tire is rated for wheels between 8 and 9.5 wide. i've confirmed with cooper that this is safe.

a 18x9+35 wouldnt clear without a 10mm spacer. with that option, i either had to get a type a spacer and get extended lugs or get type b and cut my lugs down. the type a isnt as safe, and i didnt want to cut with my lugs all the way down, so i opted to go with a 15mm spacer and more aggressive wheels. this way i only had to trim the nubs (no threads) off my lugs. there was a method to my madness!

Looking at a set of rims, fell in love with this one set but they are squared setup of 18x10.5 +15 offset , would it fit the 3IS? I have my doubts but just wanted to make sure

I think this falls into the "Hell No!" category.
For the rear a 10.5 would need to be +45.
I don't think anyone has attempted 10.5 on the front.
9.5 has been done...someone is now looking at 10 possibly.
For a 9.5 on the front +35 would be a good offset.

Never hurts to ask...certainly not a stupid question.
Wheel offset can be a little confusing to wrap your head around.

Default Fitment

Hello, I want to get these rpf1s and I found a deal on some 18x9 +35 square set
do you think it will clear my calipers?
I was going to go with 235/40/18
im on springs so it’s a drop of about an inch
do you think it will rub?
