Default HELP!!! Need to fix a dime size dent

Hi Community!!!!

I woke up this morning to a dime size dent on left rear fender. it looks like a damn bicyclist hit it or ran into my car. I live in NYC and would love any recommendation to a good and fair auto shop to get it fix. Thank you all in advice. Please see some pics of the hit.

Sorry I'm not in NYC, but I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of places to get that fixed. It's always a bummer to find stuff like that on your car. But I am curious as to what that is hanging on the back of your trunk.

its for crowded areas to protect from cars bumping into you while parking.

as for the dent, paint is missing. just go to a body shop. its going to cost you. $800 at least.

also seriously remove that giant rectangle sticker on your window. eyesore --catches my eye as "unslightly" way more than the dent does. Like WAY more. Way way WAY more.

no idea what the hell you are talking about. I see nothing

for the OP,
Hard to remove via Paintless dent removal due to it being right at the edge of a panel.
Best to go through insurance and use your comprehensive coverage and send it to Body shop and pay your deductible.

Maybe the sticker is for something important.
Can't really see what it says.

Doesn't look like the dent broke the paint in the pics. Is it any different in person?
I'll assume you meant right rear fender in the original post...I was waiting for a pic of the left rear fender.
The rear bumper guard is a good idea...I've never seen those before.

To fully fix that 100%, it's going to cost a lot. You'd most likely have to repair the panel and bumper, paint and blend them, and then clear coat both panels fully. The reason it's so expensive is that the rear quarter panels on our cars are actually one panel that sweeps over the door and is one piece with the roof and other side. Also once you paint over the bumper, if you have blind spot then you may need a new bumper (the sensors can be calibrated with the repainted bumper but it's not guaranteed it will work reliably). I'm very picky and had this done on my car when I got some deep scratches in the passenger rear quarter panel. Ended up going through insurance cause it costed way more than I expected.

You may be able to make it look "good enough" by touching it up and getting a dent removal specialist to try to get it out the best they can.

For everyone wondering about the sticker on the rear left window... It's for Tire Warning, letting consumers know that these are performance tires that will last 15-20k miles. IMO, useless, take it off before the sun bakes the glue adhesive into the window.

As for the dent, hard to see from pics. But, a pro can fix it I believe.

Also, +1 on that rear bumper protector. Haha

i have 2 little dent on both REAR FENDER ARCH 4cm long and about 2cm width, i believe it was the person opened the door without care, people in my City don't give a damn about other's car, you can't really see it but if you look closely you'll see it and only dent no paint damage, i wonder if bodyshop can fix this ? if you look straight in front of it you won't see it but if you look closely side way you'll see.

Are you talking about your car or his? On the OPs pictures I can clearly see paint damage...

mine, i just got 2 dents rear fender arch both side with door opens. brought the car to the dent repair guy, 1 side he restored 95% other side 50-60%, he said my dents are too close to the edge that has double layers metal, unless he drills hole to make it 100% back to normal otherwise he won't warranty will be 100%, i'm satisfied with passenger side but driver side still can see a little bit.

Find a PDR person local to you to take a look at it to see if they can do it and quote you. PDR= paintless dent removal

This man i brought the car to is 17 years experience, he is PDR professional, i think he is the best one in town since no one wants to do it, 1st he refused to do it because the dent is small and right at the edge, like i said he needs to drill hole to guaranty 100% but i don't want to drill hole, that's the problem thanks for your advice.

^^ I agree with you - Its annoying to see that people don't care about other people's property. Keep us posted on your repairs - I am OCD so I get what you are saying....

Ive had some luck with minor dents with the heat gun and compressed air technique. Best of luck!
