I'm probably not trading in my IS anytime soon, but I think my next vehicle is going to be a Volvo XC90. I'm currently pregnant with my first child, and I just like the idea of having him/her in an SUV rather than a little car especially because I do so much highway driving.

I just left the Volvo after driving 2 brand new ones back to back. C30 and XC60, they have been making some really poor power train choices and with the buy out they are not a swedish company anymore. I would look REALLY hard before buying anything that they make. Especially the xc90, beautiful suv, powered by a 2L motor with tons of boost shoved into it. Its lumbering and under powered and has been having a lot of teething issues. I left Toyota a decade ago to go with Volvo and here I return at 6k loss to get out of my xc60 and back to something made by Toyota.

New 2015 IS 250 leaser here so $.02 but while I love this car adding another car seat is gonna be rough! I wish I went with the GS. My 16 mo old is relegated to the smallest rear facer I could find so if/when I take a passenger their knees aren't in their chin. Wife drives a 2014 XC70 T6 which is a BEAST, but actually has tons of power and probably could best the 250*... we call it the Swedish Land Missle. Anyway epic kid hauler and I like the IS for a city commute but my gas mileage is worse than the tank!

*Fast car is no longer a real concern as the two months a year I'm not on daycare dropoff duty I get my commute on a Ducati so I'm blessed in that regard.

Short answer GS next after a car seat fit test.

i'm going to keep my ISs for another three or so years and then upgrade to a 4IS and something else -- perhaps an audi A4 which i've been drooling over lately.
