The short answer is yes, I didn't have access to a drill at the time, so I drove the screw through the body with a screwdriver. As far as holes go, it's not visible when looking at it like a random guy on street would, because it's under the wheel well. I'd recommend taking off the rear wheels to install if you don't have right angle/low profile tools to install. I kinda didn't want to take my wheels off so I just kinda muscled it

I think i bought the same mud guards as you have. Mine came with some black metal screws. My question is how are the screws staying in place without a nut? As far as i can see there's no easy way to reach the other side and fit a nut to the screws.

The screws are self-tapping screws. They will make their own hole and cut their own threads when you are screwing them in.
Ideally you want to install them once for the tightest fit, but if needed, they can still be removed and installed a couple times and still fit snug.
No nut is required for a self-tapping screw.
