IS250 at speeds 65+ unstable
#17
The reason I ask is because I just installed a set of DWS06 (coming from Pilot Sport A/S Plus, not the 3+) and I have the same wandering feeling at speed on the highway. 2006 GS430

i had the same problem the other day after recently upgrading to bigger 19" rims, the steering wheel would vibrate and shake after going above 74 mph, which i usually do between 80 and 85 in the left lane on the highway so this was a concern. i did have my wheels alligned and checked everything was fine so i drove again today at the same speeds and the car is fine

No new wheel/tire that's properly balanced should vibrate at any speed. Assuming the wheel is fine and balanced right, any vibrations on a new setup on a new car is usually due to bunk brand tires. Flat spotting after sitting overnight, etc.
No new car w/ 17s/18s/19s does this from the factory and your aftermarket setup should not either. And dont waste money on alignments, has absolutely nothing to do with vibrations.
As far as OP he should get an alignment for his instability.
If still doesn't fix it, not much you can do. Theres way too much compliance in the rear subframe of the IS to be a truly stable car. You want supreme stability, you need to look at Porsche.

Lead Lap
put 36 PSI all around COLD, it should pump up to 42 when Hot, i think i found your culprit, your car wandered at highway might caused by low PSI too, try put 36 or 37 PSI all around and see.
Go balance and tell the guy put 36 PSI, reset ecu is not to fix the problem only to help the car learn your driving habits, if balance don't fix, we go Alignment, we fix from the cheapest 1st. Do me a favor, go pump your wheel to 36 PSI all around 1st and see.
