Question Brake upgrade question

Hello CL, I recently got my brakes changed because it was time for new brakes and I had to get new rotors because I took too long to change them probably :/ my bad.
Anyways, while I was there I asked the dealership about upgrading them to bigger brake pads and every time I've done so, they shoot me down and say it's really not worth it because they: 1) wear out a lot faster than stock ones and 2) they make screeching noises when you brake.. So, I am asking, what do ya'll have to say about this? Has anyone gotten bigger brakes and had these issues? fyi I have a '14 IS250 F-sport.

Do you mean an upgrade to a Big Brake Kit? You said "bigger brake pads", which isn't really possible.
As you drive a 250, you could do an upgrade to the 350 front brakes...calipers, pads (which would be bigger), rotors, and dust shields. That would be an improvement on the brakes using OEM parts and you wouldn't have to go with an aftermarket big brake kit.
You could have the calipers painted before they go onto the car too.
I've compiled a parts list for myself for the day I'm ready to pull the trigger...the most expensive piece is the calipers.

BBK cost a lot for front and back. I think the dealer was right, it's not really worth it for 250s to have BBK, just my opinion.

For a proper conversion, you will need from the IS350:
  • The front calipers
  • The pad pin and clip per caliper
  • Anti-rattle clip per caliper
  • The dust shields...one per side
  • Pads and shims
  • Rotors (depending if RWD or AWD)
