Default Aftermarket brake rotors - rust on inner edges

Apologise if this has been discussed before...

So I recently replaced my front brakes with DBA T2 rotors 2720S + Akebono pads ACT1118. The result is great - better initial bite, less dust and quiet.

However I've noticed rust on the inner edges (about 1cm) of the new rotors. My guess was that although the overall diameter is the same, the new rotors have more inner surface where the pads can never make contact with. I was told by both my mechanic and DBA that my guess was right and this is normal.

Have you guys had any experience or had the same issue on your cars? I understand this might be completely normal, but it just doesn't look good.

Thanks

From what you described it sounds normal.
The inner part of the pad will never get as close to the center of the rotor like the outer edge of the pad with the outer edge of the rotor.
Depending on the durability of the coating used on the "non-friction" part of the rotor, will depend on how long it resists rust...but eventually it will rust.

Thanks.

It just looks awful. If by any chance I get more exposed wheels in the future, it will look even worse...
