Nice job! The only thing that I would have done differently is order the OEM trim instead of cutting what you have right now.

I'll remove the trim in my trunk (2017 IS200T) and check to see if I have that plug, it would be a pretty neat add-on

86790-53031 Camera
82181-53040 Wire Harness (connects the camera to the existing plug in trunk - camera does not come with it)
76801-53090-XX. Trim with hole cutout for camera - "XX" is your paint code
I would have gone this route as well but I kept asking lexusparts about the wire harness but some how they couldn't give me an answer.

for the trim with hole cut out, is this the whole trunk or something case i didn't think that part where we cut the metal part was replaceable

My dealer was able to track down the elusive harness on the wiring diagrams, but they wanted over $1000 for all the parts, so ordered from mylparts.com

The trim piece I quoted is the painted plastic trim with the cutout for the camera - you still have to cut the metal cross bar in the trunk lid to mount the camera in.

Thanks again Hijack87 for posting these results and info. One question for you....

I am doing the same but have no way to confirm a part number for the OEM backup camera, and when I call the dealership, they say there isn't one for my VIN (of course)...Did you just purchase an eBay version stating a range of years (i.e. 2010-2014) and the plug fit or did you get more help than I did from the dealer? Just trying to be as thorough as possible before purchasing. Thanks!

if your talking about Lexus PH then they will not help lol

Anyways I just had my fingers crossed that it would work. I went for a camera that was for the 2014 and up IS. when you go to lexus parts and enter your VIN like I did mine it did provide a back up camera number but it was just too expensive so I went for the used ebay ones.

Trying to bringing up a thread.
So if I have the socket on the harness on a 2014 IS350 F Sport series 1I need a camera and a rear bumper trim with the hole and it would be a plug and play?
Or any other things need to be done on the car?
Thanks

If you have the plug, you just need the camera really. You can cut the hole in the trim if your good with that type of thing if not, then you’ll need the trim piece as well.

The trim piece is the one where the license plate bulbs are. You could also make the hole in it yourself if you comfortable with that, as mentioned above.
You would also need to make a hole in the trunk lid for the wires to pass through.
Definitely a Sunday project if you have the tools.

that's awesome! the plug looks identical to my car. However, I cannot find the right camera. Do you have the part number by chance? thank you.
