Default Anyone Experience with wheel and tire insurance

So I purchased the wheel and tire insurance and have only used it for rim repair once. The finance guy who did my deal said just stab the tire or rub up a curb and they will replace the tire and rim. Okay that's all easy but stabbing a tire isn't to easy A and B running up a curb with the chance to scrape my bumper isn't the brightest idea.

So let's say I don't use the insurance and replace my tires out of pocket at a third part shop. Will I be covered or I have to buy new tires from Lexus in order to be covered? I can't imagine they are going to cover some cheap Chinese tires and replace with an oem one for free.

my tires are wearing out and knowing that they need to be replaced soon, I asked same question to the service manager at my local lexus dealer during last oil change and he told me that it doesn't matter and you do not have to purchase the tire from them to be fixed during tire/rime insurance coverage period. again, this was what i was "told" but i am still a bit skeptical about this and also would like to know if anyone else has heard anything different.

Along the same line, if I switched to Michellin or Contentials, will Lexus replace with oem or Michellin or Contentials? I want to get better tires but because I got the tire and wheel warranty, I don't want to get OEM if something was to happen to the Michellins. Anyone successfully submit claim for tires other than OEM?

there are so many easy ways to kill a tire, and your finance guy didn't bother tell you how to commit the fraud while up selling you?

Btw don't stab your tire, Lexus will deny the claim as its considered vandalism (car insurance covered) and not road hazard (what your package covers).

The finance guy lied to you after all...

Does nails count as damages? Could just roll over a nail and say it was an accident on the road or something. lol
