Has anyone updated their Navigation SD Card?

I hate to say it, but this is just one of several reasons why your phone is better. Maps are essentially free these days. Even Garmin's units come with lifetime maps. For $1800 they should give you lifetime updates.

My three year old Android is much better than my 2015 RX350 nav system, If I didn't like my RX so much I would dump it just because of the factory Nav system sucks so bad. How could they get this so wrong? Pay for updates? OMG sure it is a Lexus but screw that, that's extortion, not upscale.
Assuming I went for the update nav files, the system it's self is so non intuitive, I'll end up crashing just trying to use it. I may still get rid of this gas hog with the clunky input "mouse".
It is little, well not so little things like this that spoil the feeling of having a great vehicle, to one that says I should have bought a Toyota

5-10 years ago the current nav system was a decent offering, but clearly the industry and technology has advanced a lot in the last few years. Lexus needs to make some improvements soon in its new cars.
I do wish Lexus would have made some kind of deal to provide 10 year or lifetime map updates. They would have had to charge more, but that was how it worked with dedicated GPS units also. The cheap ones required updates, the expensive ones included updates. Lexus chose the lower priced option.

I just use my phone. To be honest, the built in Nav system is at best a backup. Even with the 2019 version, It's routing is simply horrible. If I know I'm going somewhere that I need navigation, I typically plug it in before I even go to my car.
