Default F Sport Conversion

Hey everyone, first post here on Club Lexus since getting my 2016 IS200T and so far really loving the car. I ended up going with the non f sport and now I'd really like to convert my front bumper to the f sport version. I know it's possible based on some research but I wasn't able to find anything on exact part numbers needed or how difficult it is to do. Any help from those who have done this conversion would be greatly appreciated. I also found this: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/ptd/5813067941.html
but I'm worried about fitment so I'd like to see the price of OEM first

Also, I'm in SoCal so if anyone knows a reputable shop that can paint/install that would be great.

I've considered doing the swap myself. I think without paint and installation, it priced out to around $500 in parts(?). It's been a while so I'm not certain on the price. With regards to the body shop, I recommend searching through the body shop thread in the SoCal section. My recommendation is Signature Autobody over in Orange.

i've been thinking about this as well, but my car has the luxury package and thus the parking sensors located on the front bumper. i wonder if that would be particularly problematic/costly when/if doing an f-sport bumper and grill conversion.

It's not worth it. Keep what you have. It's nice in its own way, seriously. I like the F Sport but someitmes I envy the standard bumper. Looks more classy/restrained and will certainly age better than the F Sport bumper which is a bit on the wild side. You also have the large fog lights which the F sport doesn't have.

Ya I get what you're saying and I do agree that it's nice in its own way but I plan on getting wheels and dropping the car slightly also and I think it will just flow better with the F sport bumper. Plus seeing everyone putting front lips on their F sport makes me sort of jealous lol. I do love my fog lights though so hopefully there might be a way to retrofit them because I wouldn't want to go with the smaller ones that fit the F sport bumper.

The non fsport fog lights will not fit the fsport bumper whatsoever. The unit is about 5 inches bigger.

Your reasoning is exactly why I want to convert to the F front as well.

As for fogs, I believe the options are OEM JDM fog lights and iJDMTOY ones. There are probably others, but these two seem to be the most common.

Let me know how it goes! I may be following shortly

i came from a base is with no sensors. After I convert to the fsport bumper - the grill came with two holes designed for the sensors. Now I have two awkward empty holes In my grill lol.

you have parking sensor holes on the f-sport grill? the bumper is not supportive of the sensors, though, correct?

I think I would just stay without fogs instead of installing the JDM or IJDMTOY ones.

I called my local Lexus parts deparment yesterday and asked for prices. The guy I spoke to told me its $493 for the bumper, $313 for top grill, and $229 for bottom grill. He wasn't able to tell me if I would need any other parts to make it fit so I'm still trying to figure that part out.

I might just end up going with the aftermarket one I linked in my first post because I know it will come with everything I need.

honestly I don't know if fsport have sensors or not. Someone probably can help you with that - I just know my new fsport grill has two holes for sensors (which my car doesn't have) and it's so awkward but barely noticeable. I think mines may have been the special edition model where my grill is black and not gunmetal grey.

youll also need the chrome grill frame/molding to keep the grills together. You'll also need a wheel liner or else there would be an opening in your wheel well (unless that won't bug you).

How about any mounting brackets or air ducts? The non OEM one I found on craigslist also includes those so I'm not sure if the OEM has them built in or if those are parts I would also need to buy.
