Default TPMS Sensor

I posted a issue with my TPMS system a week ago. So I took it to Lexus yesterday and they found a aftermarket replacement sensor in my front passenger wheel. The cost to put a OEM sensor is $320.20 total.. I did some homework and I found that they are trying to overcharge me. I found the OEM part #, brought it online for $60 on eBay from a Lexus dealer. Next I will take it to Discount tire to swap out for $20. This should do it unless I'm missing something. I cant justify paying $320 when I can pay 1/4 of that if I do my own footwork.

After you install those sensors, Lexus has to program them to your car... Hence why its so much.

You can buy techstream and the cable for $25 or less and program yourself

Hey can you please elaborate on this? I am facing a problem regarding this switching from my summer to winter setup now. I know i hook it into the OBD port under the driver dash. Can you also provide a link to the tech stream is there a toyota specific one i need? Basically hook it up and I'm guessing theres an option to reprogram the new TPMS and it should work?

just search techstream obd on Amazon or eBay and you'll find it. The ateq quickset is another great tool. That's what I use but it costs more. It's about $150 but real simpler. Just gotta press one button and you can swap between two different sets of tpms.

I had Discount Tire installed new TPMS sensors for my 2IS and they programmed all 4 sensors for free. No need to buy techstream unless you install sensors and tires yourself.

UPDATE, I had Discount Tire installed the sensor and the tpms restarter and now reads tire pressure for all tires. Talk about paying 1/4 of the dealer price. These dealers are rapist. Lol
