I'd like to hear more about your experience with the 340i compared to the IS350 when you've driven it some more. I drove the 340i and I thought that while it had a much better drivetrain and technology, the steering was very numb and kinda took away from the sportiness of the car for me.

I know what you mean but I do notice that the drive moves really do change the drive completely including the sterring. Il let you know after I drive it a bit more.
Very nice, needs some different wheels though haha. Is the 340i supposed to be like the new 335? I've lost track of the BMW naming scheme a long time ago.
Yeah the 340 is a revised twin scroll turbo straight six.
BMW’s all-new B58 Turbocharged Six Cylinder Engine
The BMW 340i, the new top of the line 3 Series, is motivated by an an entirely new all-aluminum 3.0-liter straight-six engine code named B58, replacing the successful N55.
BMW has been very tight-lipped about this engine and has provided no details as to its internal configuration and has released just a single photograph.
What we do know is that the engine utilizes a single, twin scroll turbocharger to boost the power, which produces 320 horsepower between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm and 330 lb-ft. of torque from a rather low 1,380 rpm, indicating the car should feature excellent initial acceleration. The six comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but a six-speed manual with a rev-matching function is available as a no-cost option

And it's suspected that those numbers are at the wheels (according to some dyno runs). Meanwhile my IS350 AWD probably makes 260 to the wheels. After driving the M235i, I'm slightly disappointed in Lexus's drivetrain options. The M235i has the older N55 engine with a ZF 8-speed and it puts power down so well. Unless Lexus comes up with more modern drivetrain options, I don't think I would buy another one.
yeah just give it time. developing a turbo engine takes time. especially when it needs to be top notch reliable. i'm sure they'll come through. they have to

Neither am I, though I am a long time Lexus owner. They are just too behind the times. And their turbo, which I have driven in all of its present guises, is disappointing.
340i is slightly bigger. I still can't get over how comfortable the front seats of the Lexus is compared to the BMW. I feel more settled in. Maybe will take time.
The sound this car makes is awesome. Cant wait to break it in.
