Default DAE dislike the AC system? Thoughts? Discussion?

Specifically I don't like when I turn the car on, and have the AC set to auto it doesn't immediately start the AC. It takes about 5-10 secs for it to fully kick on in high fan speed.

I understand why it's like this to save on the wear of the engine, but a Mercedes c250 does not have this "feature."

Thoughts? discussion?

I don't believe the delay has to do with engine wear, it is more likely designed to provide time for the compressor to circulate refrigerant and thus cool down the internal temperature of the evaporator coil. Without the delay, you'd get a blast of hot air when the fan comes on.

This is a feature that can be turned on/off. I believe you need an iphone app called Carista, I believe. I dont think you can set this through the menu. Here is the setting direct from thr website...

Fan speed reaches its target…
SLOWLY / NORMALLY / FAST

Every car I've ever had with temperature that you can set has had this same delay. It doesn't bother me. I think it takes a few seconds for the system to determine the temperature in the cabin so it knows whether to blow cold or warm air.
