Default Chipped Paint Help

It's not IS but I guess it still relevant
For my RC Silver Lining Metallic, I have a less than a quarter of a penny deep chipped paint on the lower end of the right side-bumper.

What's the best solution this?
In fact, I bought the touch-up paint from the Lexus dealer, and they told me to just apply to it, and I don't have to sand it or apply a primer or coat.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

It's hard to tell from the pic but did it chip clean or is there a raised section to the paint?

If it chipped clean, add a few small drop of the touch up paint to the area and allow it to dry. Once dry WET sand the area with 3000 sand paper. Make sure you keep the paper and area very wet and don't apply too much pressure when sanding. Once the chipped area has been sanded flat and blended to the surrounding area, buff the area with a really good polishing compound (I use scratch doctor first and then a carnauba wax second).

Dear Mike,

Thank you so much for your advice.
Because I have never done this myself and so I am a little worried.

YES, there is a little raised paint. As you can probably tell from the 2nd pic, the lower part is chipped deep and the top part is raised paint.

In this case, should I sand the raised paint first?

Once again thank you so much.

Can you post a pic showing the raised section ... Like you were looking at it straight on
and a pic a little closer (in focus)

Depending on how bad it's raised, you might be able to apply the touch up paint and then sand everything at once.

I labelled the pictures so you can have a better idea.
I am not expert in this, and please correct me if I am wrong regarding my intended repair steps.

1. Clean the damaged area
2. Sand the raised paint using fine grit sand paper.
3. Touch-Paint it
4. Let it dry
5. Polish it using micro-abrsaive (I am thinking about Meguiar Ultimate Compound from Amazon)
6. Repeat Step 3-5 till perfection.
7. Wax it.

I would be hesitant to repair this yourself if it is going to be your first time wet sanding. Bumpers are not very forgiving to wet sanding since the paint is thinner than on the sheet metal and plastic heats up faster due to the friction. It is also difficult to remove wet sanding marks by hand. Best of luck.
