too much touch up paint
so.. i put on too much touch up paint... and now its worse than it was before the paint

at first it looked fine, but gravity help bring the paint down so it formed a kind of bulge at the bottom and for some reason the paint is lighter than the surrounding paint. is there anything i can do? rubbing compound? or have a professional wetsand it down and have him apply the paint?

you can use rubbing compound, but I'd be very careful and tape off the surrounding areas. You could also wetsand it. I read somewhere to use a hole puncher and punch a wetsandpaper hole, glue it to a pencil eraser and wetsand the area. Again, use painters tape to tape off and isolate the area to be wetsanded.
The other option is to get some Langka and use the Blob Eliminator. I use it with much success on paint chips and some scratches.
It might help to post some pics of the area.

Lacquer thinner will remove it, and not harm the factory paint.
It will slightly dull the factory paint, but if you're worried about that, simply put a tiny hole( the size of the touch up) in a piece of duct tape (or masking tape) and center the hole around the touch up only, then wipe with a clean rag.
Done.
