I currently have a 2014 IS 250F, and I have a question in regards to the tranny and shifts.
I have it on Sport mode and auto (not step-tronic or sport shift).
I used the F sports instrument panel to show what gear I am and when its at 6, the center cluster would still show D or 5. Do they not sync?
Also, I realize the shift is quiet slow, are these not double clutch or...
How is the tranny designed? I realiz it is not CVT, thank goodness but it does feel slow and not precise in showing what gear it really is....
Also, there were once or twice when I down shifted... the RPM go over the revlimiter.
If I change the gear back to a higher gear i.g. 6->4 and quickly 4->5.
It would not change very quickly, which causes me to worry since it is already in a over the redline state.
Lastly, I notice if I want to change to another gear, for example: 5-> 6, I may have to let go of the gas then it would shift (same idea if you were wanting to shift correctly in a TRUE standard).
Basically, there are some things I find that are potential issues in the tranny shifts (since it is not really a manual).
Anyone experience these symptoms?
Driving standards in the past, this does worry me... how is this tranny designed exactly?
Thanks!

I think this may be a 250 thing. I have a 350 and have never experienced such a thing. I did have a 250 as a loaner and experienced what you are describing.
It's normal shifting slow cuz of it being a 250 not trying to talk down on the 250 but I would ask the service advisor at the dealership if u can't find answer here
