Default For those who own a white IS350...

Hey guys,

Just purchased a 2016 IS350 F-Sport in white. I was curious to know what car care products you use for your vehicle, such as wax, sealant, etc. I've read about CarPro Hydro2 but seem to get mixed reviews. I like the idea of simplicity and saving time with the product, but just wanted to see what you fellow 3IS'rs are using out there. Thanks!

Paul

I highly recommend you spend some time in the auto detailing forum here on CL. This specific topic is covered with lots of great suggestions. I would start by looking up the thread about paint coatings. There is also an entire thread about HydrO2.

Enjoy your new IS!

Here’s the polymer sealant products that I’m using. On a clean car I applied the bonding agent, let it dry, then applied the cleaner polish which removed any small road stains or tar deposits that I missed during the wash. Let that cure overnight, then apply the clearcoat polish. Works great on wheels, too – and helps repel brake dust.

Cleaner polish: http://www.amazon.com/Duragloss-105-...dp/B002W0ZNIU/
Clearcoat polish: http://www.amazon.com/Duragloss-111-...dp/B00GD8HQSW/
Wash/Dry topcoat: http://www.amazon.com/Duragloss-951-...dp/B002W0YBWE/

The last product (Aquawax) may be overkill but that’s what creates the very slick surface on a freshly washed car.

Hope this helps.

Make sure you use a water based tire dressing. The petro ones are easy to see when they splash off and are a pain in the a** to get off.

Here is what I use:
Amazon.com: Optimum (OB2008C) Opti-Bond Tire Gel - 8 oz.: Automotive Amazon.com: Optimum (OB2008C) Opti-Bond Tire Gel - 8 oz.: Automotive

For Sealant I use:
Amazon.com: BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant 8 oz: Automotive Amazon.com: BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant 8 oz: Automotive

Put Chemical Guys JetSeal on your list to research for a sealant.

Hydro2 is really good stuff. The only thing that's bad is the longevity. You might get 1 month if lucky. It's easy to use so it's not too much of an issue.

Mine is opticoated but I still put Reload as a topper. Reload is the same thing as hydro2 but lasts longer. Takes a little more time to apply but it's not bad. Reload lasts 3-4 months.

If my car was not opticoated or had a coating, I would put reload but still use hydro2 lite as a booster at least once a month. Then apply reload every 4 months.
