I have a 2015 IS350 AWD F-Sport.
I am new here, this is my first post. I did my research on this forum and see some related post but I still have some questions.

I am looking into buying a set of wheels for summer with a second set of Tpms. After some research and calls ,I know the 3- gen IS can only store one set of Tpms ID. How do people here go around that " issue"??? I know there are a few options.

- ignore the Tpms light ( other than the light does it disable any function of the car? Traction control?)
- get it reprogrammed at the shop everytime I swap the wheels
- use ATEQ quickset to reprogram at home (can someone confirm it works? Any issue with it?)
- clone the oe Tpms id to a new set of sensors, but my tire shop told me it might not work as they had customer who took this route and end up having issue. Something to do with the car picking up 2 sensors with the same ID.( anyone can comment on this?)

I have some cloned ones in my winter tires. No problems except for the fact that the pressures don't show up in the dash. The system works fine though, the light will light up if you have low pressure.

 

Is there a difference between the us and european version?
Through Techstream i can program 2 set of wheels. If you have the main and 2nd set specified you can switch the set of wheels yourself.

Method to switch between summer and winter set of wheels:
1. Install the tires and wheels that use the correct IDs to the vehicle.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the tire pressure warning reset switch on and off 3 times within 3 seconds (Press/release → press/release → press/release).
4. Check the answer-back function of the tire pressure warning light.
(Make sure that the tire pressure warning light illuminates for 3 seconds and turns off for 0.5 seconds 3 times.)

 

I have my second set of summer wheels since last year with its own TPMS, and I have not programmed them yet.

So here is how the car behaves:
If you have your original set in the garage with your car close by, the car will pick those up, but the TPMS display will show blank values. After driving about 22 km, the yellow TPMS warning light flashes for a few seconds, then stays on for the remainder of your drive. No impacts to anything else - just the light stays on until you're back close to your original set and the cycle repeats.

 

I bought the Ateq system for both of my rims. Just hook to the diagnostic port(OBD) and switch from summer to winter. Takes less than 5 min.

 

Just added new wheels and new tpms, shop had it coded and works perfect with tire pressure showing. Just go to a tire shop that knows what they doing.

 

i can confirm the ateq quickset works on our cars. I have a set of TPMS sensors from tirerack that are separate ID's from the stock ones on my summer tires. use the software that comes with the device to save off both values and switch back and forth when you swap. I believe you have to select 2014 Lexus GS though, as it still thinks the 2014 IS's are the 2nd gen (think IS-C)

 

maybe there is difference.
ive checked all over techstream plugged into my 3IS IS350 and cannot find way to add second set of TPMS.

only 2IS can add 2 sets of TPMS through techstream

Ateq Quickset tool works, but like someone mentioned earlier, you have to select different model car instead of your year IS.
(i.e. on my 2014 IS350, i had to select like a 2013 ES350 to program my second set of TPMS)

 

All I know is that it works fine on my 2015

 

Did u set the model to 2015 IS???
