Default Coilovers in the winter

Any CL members out there in the snowy areas who have their cars on coilovers and drive around during the winter? Pro's? Cons? How do you handle the salt and stuff?Trying to decide between Coils and Spring/Shocks combo. I live in NE MA and looking for advice. I had posted this in the Brakes/Suspension section but have gotten no replies. Thanks guys!

Springs naturally put a lot of stress on your suspension, right?
I run the RSR iSport Black coils, a little stiff, you get used to it if you've done springs.
Stock height is still the same. So no issues there.

I had KW V1 on my 335 for 3yrs, no issues in the winter and they don't rust. I'm not sure if they make them for our cars.

I have BC's on my car currently. No issues so far. I jus spray brake cleaner on it in the spring when i change tires to clean them the best i can.

Garage16 has this coil over cover if your that concerned. Im still on the fence about this.

I've got RSR i-sport Coils for about 3 months now and its been handling the winter storms fairly well. Actually took the car out during the big NYC blizzard that accumulated 26+ inches on snow and had no troubles.

I had the spring/shock combo on my IS250, the ride was pretty good. Just the salt and sand concerns me. But you guys seem to be fairing well it seems.

I had coils on my last car and drove through the winter - about 4 winters in total. They were tein super streets purchased brand new. I wouldn't do it again - they got seized up each time and it got to the point that i wouldn't adjust them and just left the car the same height. The point of me getting coils was to raise the car marginally in the winter and drop it back down in the summer with my summer rims. The coils didn't rust at all but the road salt screwed them up nicely. If I lower my IS I will be going with springs

Thats my biggest concern right there. Living in New England its difficult to keep the salt out, but I want to lower the car a bit. I may just have to invest in the coilover covers mentioned above.
