IS or RC?
lol at the comments.
-i started off with a corolla at 18 and it was a good learning car. got my 350 fsport at 20 and i prefer it over the RC. I think the 4 doors are more convenient in case you need to carry people around. plus I'm not a fan of the front of the RC for some reason. its too wide, but thats just my opinion. can't go wrong with either vehicle

I used to drive a 2 Door Coupe for 10 years (out of high school and through college) and after not having a Backseat for so long... I can't go back. Just my own two cents
I always wanted a coupe, but after testing driving various coupes from BMW, Honda, RC 350. Its just too inconvenient...
Yeah the styling looks cool and such, but when driving friends (which I do very frequently), it just doesn't work well. Its cramp for anyone older than 12, when it rains its gonna be a b****.
So, during my new car hunt, I basically cross off all the coupes I wanted. And ended up going with a Lexus is350 fsport. Its more practical, has enough ponies to play well, a very sporty styling, and more unique when compared to germans.

Obviously you can configure different packages, etc., but with the same packages on both models, the front 2 seat interior is pretty identical.
I am getting a car next year as a 16 year old, my dad owns a toyota dealership so we have connections with lexus for a first car. i have the option of keeping his 2016 RC350 F Sport, which is fully loaded or get a brand new ultrasonic blue IS300 or IS350...
I'm not really sure what to get i live in new jersey with lots of snow so its obviously going to be an all wheel drive model. what should i do? suggestions? i have pics of the RC and IS i would like.

I think the question you really are asking is 2 vs 4 doors.
My preference is I'd recommend 4 doors for your first car. If you get a 2 door, and drive friends and family around even occasionally, I promise you you'll wish and wonder whether you should've gotten 4. If you decide later down the road you would prefer 2, then I think that's the best time to decide to get a coupe.
However, if the 2 door is what you really prefer, then go that route! Like I said, both great cars, you can't go wrong. And considering your father already has the F sport exhaust on the RC...that thing would be a ton of fun.
Again, personally I would recommend anyone's first car to get a sedan. It's just more practical. I got a sedan (Acura TL) at 16, followed by a Accord Coupe at 20. I think that was the best pattern to follow (sedan > coupe) because it lets you start out with the most flexibility, and you can decide later on to change it up. I loved my Accord Coupe, but after about 2 years I was ready for the 4 door experience again. Got my IS about a month ago and am loving every second
i would gravitate towards the IS 350, because its lighter, faster and more fun to drive the RC 350 is absolutely stunning but is not as sporty as you might want. test drive them both, either way they are great cars
As a 16 yr old, it would be safer to get a 140-160hp car. 200hp is already fast for someone your age. But if you can control the urges of speeding with a 300hp car, keep the RC350 F-Sport. IS300 if you want to drive with your friends and carry more stuff from high school to college years. 4-doors is practical, 2-doors is more on the just for fun side.
Whatever you pick, don't be this stupid teenager who stole his dad's 1wk old RCF and crashed it: https://www.clublexus.com/articles/t...of-this-story/
