Default Oil info for IS350

Hi all,

Found a similar thread on this but wanted to nail down a few specific details..

First, I believe whether you take your '14+ IS250/IS350 to either a Toyota OR a Lexus dealer, they'll replace your oil with TGMO OW-20 oil...is this assumption correct?

Secondly, what do you guys use/prefer for your OW-20 synthetic? I've read good things about Mobil 1 and Royal Purple, but wanted to get y'alls opinion and what you guys prefer using for your IS!

Can anyone also chime in on what they pay for a basic oil/filter change at a Toyota and/or Lexus dealer? I appreciate the replies!! Thanks.

I've always had good results with Mobil 1 as others have stated. Though I'm considering Pennzoil's platinum on my next change. Check out bobistheoilguy.com for more info than you may want regarding oil.

I've used Mobil 1 and Royal Purple and like the latter better.

I've used mobil 1 in all of my cars. Seems to work good and I can pick up cases of it pretty cheap on sale at sams or costco.

Thanks for the replies all. Either Mobil 1 or TGMO is what I'll shoot for in future oil changes.

Question: what kind of impact does choosing an oil filter have? Is it minimal? I see a lot of people on the forums seem to buy several OEM oil filters at once; I just wonder if it really makes that big of a difference. I plan to own my vehicle until 150k + miles, so just trying to make informed decisions.

As far as Toyota dealer oil changes, will they use the correct OEM oil filter, or just whatever they have?? I'd prefer Toyota vs Lexus dealers since I will probably save about half by going that route.

Should not be any difference unless they are doing it wrong. What's important is to find a dealer/shop with good reputation/reviews.
