Question Lost my set of keys need help!!!!

Hiii Everyone,

I just recently lost my set of keys to my 2015 is 250 Fsport. Can I just buy a replacement key fob on ebay and reprogram the key fob myself. If so how should I proceed. The dealership will be very expensive to fix. thank you very much

if you lost all your key fobs, you will need to replace the system, if you still have at least one key fob, you can get a new key fob from sewell then get the stealership to program it for you.

Dealership needs to contact Lexus Corp to reprogram a new set of keys. You can still bring your own set of new oem key fogs.

Um, I don't think so. One of my buddies programmed his set of new keys with one of the original key fobs and Toyota's Techstream software. Took all of about two minutes. It is ridiculous that stealerships charge $80 or more for this. No wonder that car dealers get a bad name.

The OP said he lost both keys, I think the procedure is different.

It is. You need a master technician login, and approval from a shop/service manger to completely
reprogram the keys if all are lost. Ebay keys will work, but only for this, not regular programming. I've heard that certain locksmiths can do this cheaper than a dealer, but i don't personally have any experience with them.

there are 2 ways that i know to reprogram key fobs (I might be wrong)

1. Add additional key, dealership (master tech)

2. wipe all existing key fobs (codes) reinsert new key fob with new codes (locksmith) if you do this, toyota/ lexus) will not longer have the master code for your car, locksmith will need to contact toyota/ lexus to give them the new code.

you only need to be a master tech if the customer lost all keys, and a reset is needed, otherwise anyone can do it with a scan tool.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-HYQ14F...xWHW-T&vxp=mtr

Manufacturer Part Number: CC HYQ14FBA
Interchange Part Number: IC 1551A-14FBA

make sure above numbers match your key fob

Be careful with used fobs - they can't be programmed in the same manner as new ones. Check with your dealer to see if they can and will program a used fob.

Does anyone know how much the dealership would charge to get a spare key done? When I purchased my car it only came with one key fob and I was thinking that if I ever lost my one key fob I'd be **** out of luck.

You definitely need a spare key. My dealer wanted $239 for the key, $80 to program it and $15 to cut the mechanical key.

$239!?!? Omg that is outrageous. So even if I did buy a legit OEM key fob online it could still be close to over $150 when everything is all said and done. I really don't want to shell out $239 for a spare key fob. ughhh
