I cant wait to see what can be done with a turbo-back exhaust and some kind of intake.
They won't sell many of these in the North country, with the V6 and AWD just $2,400 more.

With a manual, it would be a much better proposition.

Not sure what to think of this car. I have a 2015 IS250 F-Sport and was hoping to turn in my lease early and get the 200t for the added turbo/power/MPG but the car has such a huge turbo lag, as well as it being FWD

What do you guys think?
I'm very interested in test driving the IS200t! Did you have to call them to set up an appointment or you just walked in there?

On the NX, in M-mode, it peaks at 17 psi! I would expect the same on the IS. Try it, let us know.

See video - Note boost gauge in second gear below, 4750 rpm.

I saw the comment above about the is200t will have the same front brakes and calipers as the is350?

Im in a base is250 and feel its way too slow for the segment.

1. Turbo
2. PSI added to new gauge
3. Lighter and better handling
4 Shares same brakes as is350
5. Less 4k less than is350
6. Fuel economy

Are these enough for you to make the move into the 200t f sport vs is350 sport

I will be getting either one. Here's the thing. is350 is 90 percent faster than other cars on the road that i see every days in the chicago land area. I would love to have that power that would be put me over the edge to get an is350. Do you guys guys feel the same way?

Having a lot of power is great, if you can use it.

Unless your going to the track, you will far exceed any speed limit before really tapping the power of the 350..

The NX accelerate pretty quickly for the power it has in the above video.

So it seems like some folks have gotten a chance to test drive the 200T already! What are the impressions so far in terms of city driving and the torque when starting from a stop?

Well, that's simply not a true statement. The power is far from excessive, and could especially use more low-end torque.

Lexus.com states that the IS200T F and the 350 F do not share the same brakes, 11" rotor vs 13 " rotor on the 350.

Which dealership? Are you a car salesman? I'm looking to get the is200t-F next year, so trying to look around right now to see what I should be paying lol

I've driven an NX200t.
The response is literally instant; no lag at all.
There is plenty of punch bottom end and up.
The torque curve is literally linear like a C Class Benz.
Plenty of power.
Not absolutely huge amounts though.

However, the greatest disappointment was the so so idle, and in particular, the loud and raucous nature of the way the 2 liter turbo revs; in the NX, it is not music to the ears at all.
Hopefully, the NVH will be better in the IS.
This 2 liter turbo does in fact have balance shafts, however I think it's a long stroke engine, and maybe that's why the NVH issues.

The Benz 2 liter turbo is very much the same, but a lot smoother and quieter in the C Class.

The BMW 2 liter turbo in the 3 Series has prominent lag and a peaky torque curve, smoother and quieter than the NX, but not as smooth and quiet as the Benz...

that quote above is not true just as fyi, the 2.0 bmw motor is a technical marvel. i love lexus so this is not a bmw or lexus thing... the 2.0 bmw is lag free, great nvh, in sport mode is fast, i avg 27 mpg after 3500 60/40 highway city, and get 40 mpg at 70 with cruise on...
pretty phenomenal and if the is200t can replicate above data i would consider a gs 200
sat in is over weekend the cars interior is way to cramped and small for anyone 6 foot i felt like i was wrapped up in a chamber not for me with interior space,

A turbo back, or even a good down pipe would help a lot on any turbo lag. Too bad no manual transmission still
