IS200t Test Drive
So I went to Jim Falk, Lexus of Beverly Hills since they had the car in stock.
Not sure what to think of this car. I have a 2015 IS250 F-Sport and was hoping to turn in my lease early and get the 200t for the added turbo/power/MPG but the car has such a huge turbo lag, as well as it being FWD :( What do you guys think? |

Unless he's referring to the NX.
The new IS line isn't even out yet. |
3IS 350 the best. :))

I was in the same boat looking to trade mine in for the added torque and mpg. This was my fear, turbo lag. Family member has a 3 series that smokes my is250, but it's that 1 second of lag that gets to me when I've driven it. Was hoping the 200t wouldn't be as bad. It may not be the fastest but there's still a lot to be said of having a naturally aspirated engine.

why even arguing about FWD, if OP does not know IS is RWD only with AWD as option, then he or she should not post in this forum again
|
Well, if it is anything like the NX, I believe the OP as the launch is soft.
Hit the pedal and car rolls for 1-1.5 seconds, then the pull (about 2800 rpm onward) is strong where the NX @ 400 lbs heavier still blows away the IS 250. I still prefer the 250's torque and throttle response for city driving, but folks who do a lot of highway will LOVE the Turbo as just never runs out of steam like the 250 does. |

I work at Newport Lexus in Newport Beach. Just took our factory rep's Nebula / Rioja IS200t F Sport for a test drive.
Very impressive, and thats coming from a '15 IS350 F Sport owner. Will post pics shortly. |
Factory boost gauge shows roughly 14psi at peak, holds well til red line.
